Perfect Rice - Dang!

The most important thing I've learned about rice is that you have to know your rice and the climate you live in. That tells you how much water to add in order to perfect rice every time.

Ingredients
  • 1 Cup Dry, uncooked Rice
  • 2 Cups HOT water - plus or minus ¼ cup depending on the moisture content
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • ¼ tsp. Pepper
Instructions
  1. Place a large sauce pot on the stove. Turn water tap to hot and let it heat fully.
  2. Turn the burner to high heat, then add the rice.
  3. When your tap water is HOT, add 2 +/- cups to the rice. Now add the salt and pepper.
  4. DO NOT STIR till the water comes to a full rolling boil.
  5. When water is at a full rolling boil, stir once through the pot quickly.
  6. Immediately place a tight fitting lid on the pot, then turn the heat to the lowest setting.
  7. Cook the rice for 13 minutes without lifting the lid.
  8. After 13 minutes, move the pot off of the burner and let it sit for another 2 - 5 minutes, then remove the lid and serve.
